Today, and 88 days after this bear’s accident with a vehicle, we witnessed the holding of a ceremony to conclude its treatment process.
This valuable animal collided with a car at around 3 AM on 6/8/96. By about 6 AM, Dr. Moradi and Dr. Dargy were present at its side and transferred it to the Central Veterinary Hospital for treatment. Due to a concussion from the accident, this animal experienced about 48 hours with a very low level of consciousness, and after a relative recovery, it had no sensation in the motor limbs on its left side and was unable to bear weight on them.
On the tenth day after the accident, and after anesthetizing the animal, a necrotic wound became apparent, which had arisen due to damage to the skin’s blood vessels from the vehicle’s impact, and could alone have led to the animal’s death.
This extensive wound was washed, disinfected, cleaned, and dressed twice a week to prevent infection. During this period, the animal was anesthetized and brought back from anesthesia 16 times, which was very difficult and breath-taking given the brain injury. Today, we are very happy to announce that this valuable animal has completely overcome the paralysis caused by cerebral hemorrhage in its motor limbs, its extensive wound has healed, and it is now able to use all of its limbs fully and correctly.
